Call the Senior Center to confirm to the latest information

Thank you for calling the Westborough Senior Center to inquire about transportation on our Mini-bus. We hope you will find this service accommodating to your needs and will become a regular passenger with us. Here are a few things to remember:
  • Reservations must be made by 12:00 noon on the day before you need a ride. Some consideration will be given to medical appointments made after the deadline, if possible.
  • You can call the Senior Center between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to find out what your scheduled pick up time will be for the next day. Pick up time is approximate to the best of our ability. Please plan to be ready ten minutes before your scheduled time.
  • When your appointment is completed, please call the Senior Center and we will send the bus back for you. We will make every effort to pick you up within thirty minutes of your call. The local medical offices are familiar with this procedure.
  • Thursday is shopping day. Please do not make medical or hairdressing appointments on Thursday. Also remember when grocery shopping to limit your purchases to three bags.
  • The driver is not allowed to go into your home, a store or office, leaving the bus unattended, to find you. Please be considerate of our schedule and the other passengers and be ready to go when the bus gets to you.
  • The fare is $1.00 each trip. This is payable to the driver or you can purchase a multi-trip punch card. Please do not tip the driver. This is illegal as they are employees of the Town of Westborough.
  • The last pick up for the day begins at 3:00 p.m. Please be sure your appointment will end in time for you to get a ride home.
  • If you need transportation for a medical appointment in Worcester, Shrewsbury, Marlborough, Northborough, Framingham or Milford, we can usually provide this on our Mini-bus or with a Volunteer. Please give us at least 72 hours notice so that we can schedule your ride. Fare will vary depending on destination.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to call the Senior Center at 508-366-3000 and ask. We will be happy to help you!

In-town transportation services are provided by the Council on Aging’s Mini-bus through the Senior Center. Transportation is available for medical appointments, hairdresser/barber appointments, errands, and all activities at the Senior Center. Reservations must be made by 12:00 noon at least the day before you need the ride. There is a fare of $1.00 for each trip. You can also purchase a $10.00 or $20.00 punch card for your trips. All vehicles are handicapped accessible. If you require assistance with mobility or are in a wheelchair, your aide will ride for free.

Shopping trips on Tuesday afternoons are to different shopping plazas in the area. The bus begins pick-up at noon. Check the calendar in the Senior Scene for destinations each week. Grocery shopping is on Thursday mornings to Stop&Shop and Roche Bros. Reservations are required for any of these shopping trips.

Transportation to medical appointments in Worcester, Marlborough, Framingham, Southborough, Northborough, Shrewsbury and Milford can be arranged on the Mini-bus or with a Volunteer. A minimum of three days’ notice is required for all out-of-town medical trips.

Limited transportation is available with Volunteer drivers through the Senior Center. You must be able to travel on your own. Arrangements can be made by calling the Volunteer Coordinator at the Senior Center. You are responsible for any tolls or parking fees. We cannot transport you if you have been under any kind of anesthesia during your appointment.
