Put your papers, etc. in the trunk and we will help you get them out

AARP SMART DRIVER PROGRAM

TUESDAY APRIL 30 FROM 10:00 AM TO 3:00 PM

at the WESTBOROUGH SENIOR CENTER

$20.00 for AARP Members
$25.00 for non-members
Free if you have United Healthcare
No written exam! No driving test!! This is a great opportunity to better understand the updated technologies in new vehicles, the rules of the road and strategies to compensate for age-related changes in vision, hearing, response time and more.
Lunch will be provided. Please sign up and pay by Thursday, April 25, at noon.

PRETZEL DAY

FRIDAY APRIL 26 AFTER LUNCH

at the WESTBOROUGH SENIOR CENTER

Do you like pretzels?? We’ll be celebrating Pretzel Day on Friday, April 26, after lunch.
You’ll have your own pretzel rod to dip in various flavors of chocolate and a multitude of “toppings” to roll them in, nuts, sprinkles, jimmies, coconut, etc.
There is no charge and we’ll have bags to put your pretzels in so you can take them home! Please let us know if you are coming so we have enough supplies. Thanks.

FRIDAY APRIL 12 at 10 AM

Chinese observes Qingming Festival. What is Qingming Festival? Come join us for a social gathering to explore on what people do on the Qingming festival. We will begin our program with some light exercises to invigorate our bodies. After that, we will watch some interesting videos on the history of Qingming Festival. Refreshments will be served.
Sign up must be made by noon on Thursday 4/11.

EXPERIENCE THE TRANQUILITY OF NATURE

FRIDAY APRIL 19 at 10 AM

Come join us for an outing to DeCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln on Friday April 19 at 10 am. DeCordova Sculpture Park and Museum is famous for its modern and contemporary outdoor sculptures.
It’s a top spot to see unique artworks surrounded by nature. The museum admission is $12. Lunch to be determined. Bus leaves at 10:00 am from the Senior Center. (Rain day will be scheduled in May)
Sign up must be made by noon on Wednesday April 17.

FRIDAY 4/5 from 1:30-3:30 pm and 4/26 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

Join us for opening ceremonies and the first pitch! Wear your favorite player shirt
We’ll have hot dogs, popcorn, peanuts and soda Trivia with prizes

PAPERCRAFT CLASS

TUESDAY APRIL 9 at 1:00 PM

You’ll be making an adorable gift box, great for graduations, first communions, showers, etc.
Class starts at 1:00 p.m. No charge but you must sign up ahead of time. Thanks to the WSCS for supporting this program. A sample is available at the Senior Center.

WESTBOROUGH MILL

Have you ever worked at Westboro Mill at 69 Milk Street – either at Polyform (Styrofoam) or Kenworthy Bros. (rubber innersoles for shoes)? Kris Allen is writing an article about this old mill and would like to talk to someone who worked there. Please contact her at 508-366-0312. Thanks!

The menu looks great for lunches on Friday this month. Won’t you join us? No shopping, no cooking, no dishes…..sounds tempting. Reservations must be made by 10:00 a.m. the day before.  A $3.00Ndonation is requested.

4/12 – Pollack w/Mediterranean Sauce, Italian Roasted Red Bliss Potatoes, Ratatouille, Wheat Bread, Orange

4/26 – Roast Turkey w/ Gravy, Bread Stuffing, Green Beans, Wheat Bread, Fresh Fruit

DINNER AT THE BACK DOOR

Dinner at the Back Door will be Monday, April 22, and will be cheese ravioli, meatballs, tossed salad, rolls and butter and dessert.  Dinners are available to pick up after 1:00 p.m.
Cost is $7.00.
All reservations must be made by noon Friday, April 19, at noon.

GRAB’N GO LUNCH

WEDNESDAY APRIL 24 AT NOON

G’N G will be on Wednesday, April 24, The sandwich will be Turkey and Cheese, chips, pickle , water and a cookie.
Cost is $5.00 Reservations by noon the day before. Pick up at 11:00 a.m.

BAGELS WITH THE SELECT BOARD

TUESDAY APRIL 16 AT 9:30 AM

A member of the Select Board will be at the Senior Center on Tuesday, April 16, at 9:30 a.m. Come and enjoy a fresh bagel and a cup of coffee and some conversation.
There is no charge and all are welcome. There have been some very lively discussions and everyone has learned from each of us.
Transportation is available. Please call and let us know if you are coming so we have enough bagels!!

ASSABET BUFFET APRIL 10

WEDNESDAY APRIL 10 AT NOON

We’ll be headed to Assabet Vocational School on Wednesday, to enjoy their amazing buffet lunch.
Cost is $15.00, which includes tax and tip. We will be sending our bus but if you would like to drive on your own and be part of our reservation, you are welcome to do so.

An Adult Respite Program A program for Westborough Seniors with Memory Loss and Respite for their Caregivers.
Saturday Sunshine provides a structured, quality time for your loved one with memory loss. Professional staff will provide lunch and engaging activities for those who require some supervision.
